Happy August!

Things have been ok. Even though my vacation was cancelled, and they called me into work a day early, my lonesome time in my work unit also given me plenty of time to think on some creative projects. Because I decided to join an itch.io jam! Exciting! I want to try and make a visual novel (VN) but there's always the nonzero chance I'll produce another comic instead. But either way, I have one ideas narrative beats completed, and another I'll be working on preparing so that I have options in relation to possible complexity. After all, I need to make time for learning the coding system for the VN itself- At first, I was going to use Ren'Py. But given the AI programming involved in the most recent versions, I don't really want to depend on that system, so I'll give godot a shot and see where that takes me. I've been quite stimulated, writing wise!

I also got a kettlebell recently, just 15lb, and I just follow some short youtube video. Not having a particular goal in mind, but I miss the clarity that exercise gave me in my head. It's nice to have something to motivate working out again, though I still feel concerned about my future flexibility! Here's to hoping I'll commit to it, I've been exercising every other day basically. I did work out in the morning before work yesterday, frankly a terrible idea. I was so tired the entire day!

I've been doing my analyzing of the works I'm playing and reading- Not too much, really. I played this VN called phallopuppy, gorey but interesting. The introduction is of course, the hook, thereafter they introduce the characters in the intermediary scene before the second act, and their motives are better clarified in the second act... The third act/chapter is where everything goes wrong, and the novel reiterates the cruelty (Not necessarily a lesson, after all- Not every story requires a lesson to be taught- In this case, the story is an exercise of a cruel belief and a struggling love). Very succint!

I have been watching more of Nadia and the Blue Sea- I'll put my thoughts to it another day, because I need to finish my food tonight and see how much brainstorming I can squeeze in before I sleep.... I should really better write down my notes though! No point to these studies if I don't put pen to paper, notarize(?) the experience rather then letting it dance in my head...
